thewav is for fans, artists, and venues to connect around music. Keep it that way. Short version: don’t harass people, don’t dox people, don’t post hate — and use block/report if someone does.

1. block and report

Block. Blocking someone stops them from viewing your profile, following you, or contacting you on thewav. They won’t be notified that you’ve blocked them. You can unblock at any time from settings.

Report. If you see content or behavior that violates this policy, report it using the report option on the profile, post, or content in question, or email support@thewav.music with a link/description. Include as much detail as you can — we can’t act on what we can’t find.

We review reports and take action ranging from content removal to account suspension or termination, depending on severity and history. We won’t share who filed a report with the reported user.

2. harassment

Don’t use thewav to target someone with repeated unwanted contact, threats, or behavior meant to intimidate, degrade, or scare them — including pile-ons coordinated with other accounts. This applies whether it happens in public posts, comments, or direct messages.

3. doxxing

Don’t post someone’s private information without their consent — home address, phone number, personal email, financial info, ID documents, or precise real-time location. This applies even if the information is technically findable elsewhere; posting it on thewav to target someone is still a violation.

4. hate policy

Don’t post content that attacks, demeans, or incites violence against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or veteran status. This includes slurs, hateful imagery, and content that praises or promotes hate groups or their symbols.

Discussion, criticism, and commentary on these topics is fine — the line is targeting people for who they are, not what they think or say.

5. what else isn’t allowed

threats of violence or self-harm content that encourages harm to others
sharing sexual content involving minors — zero tolerance, reported to authorities where required by law
coordinated inauthentic behavior (fake accounts, bot networks, vote/engagement manipulation)
impersonation — see our handle policy

6. enforcement

Depending on severity, we may remove content, restrict features, temporarily suspend, or permanently terminate an account. Severe violations (threats, doxxing, CSAM) result in immediate action without warning. See our terms of service for the full account termination policy.

If you believe you’re in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first — thewav’s reporting tools are not a substitute for emergency response.
